I was actually in the Ohio National Guard at that time. We got sent to Ohio State University with rifles but no ammo as they didn't want a repeat. Even then I would have been happier to be on the other side of the confrontation than where I was but no choice. Saw some streakers but encountered no violence, thank goodness. All of us thought the whole thing was stupid.
I do remember hearing of this. I was in the military stationed in VA and felt for the protestors but also felt powerless to make any sort of stand. The Viet Nam war was a crime. Even though this started under Kennedy I don't think he would have allowed this to happen.
