George Carlin from beyond the grave. ....or maybe four decades before it. Real food for thought. Something is amiss when comedians' targets are vulnerable marginalized groups. It may come from a place of genuine ignorance and not any malicious intent, but the impact can still be dangerous, even deadly.
Holy shit! When was that interview? Do you realize how little has changed and how prescient George Carlin was?
Exactly.
I am a big Chappelle fan, well, not so much on this 'special'. Honestly, I didn't even get to his anti-trans material. I found it offensive & mean very early on & stopped watching. Now I will likely go back just to see the whole thing, but the whole tone just seemed off...
He was a genius
For sure! Carlin could be abrasive & cynical, but had his eyes open & his brain engaged.
Oddly enough, my ex turned me on to George Carlyn, and he's a right wing nut job- he's just apparently not bright enough to know what he was talking about lol.
