Women in Florida best start getting blood tests 1 - 3 days into a late period. 
That's about the only way they're going to have any choice over what happens to their bodies. (And yes, the blood tests of today can and do detect pregnancy 6 to 8 DAYS after ovulation. Long before a missed or late period. hCG tests are nearly infallible. It's too bad it's come to this. Disgraceful.)
