Tuesday again. Hot day, did some yard work, cooled off for a couple hours and did some more.

Progress report: Down 5.4 pounds since since starting, 1.8 last week. Not a speedy process but this method is easier for me to maintain on later, which I really must do this time.
Eating today: 2/3 serving bread pudding (it turned out excellent), strawberries, cream cheese. - 175, grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, fresh pineapple, 2 Tbsp yogurt/cottage cheese - 155, big supper, picked up Sonic for neighbor and I, cheeseburger, 1/2 small order tater tots - 700 -total of 1030 for the day. Quit eating after 8 hours, doing a mini-fast. Tried intermittent fasting before then let it slide. Think I will try it again for a bit. The 8/16 plan wasn't bad, combined with calorie counting should work well.

I've been suffering from pain, result of a back injury and surgery. I looked for help with inflammation, and found a ketonic diet may help. I will work towards fasting several times a week, perhaps daily in hopes of reducing my pain. Nothing else has helped, no meds, no shots, nothing except meditation and time so far.

I also learned, again, that muscle is heavier than fat. If you exercise and diet, your weight may plateau, yet you can continue to loose fat. If you exercise, don't despair when you find yourself at a plateau.

Today I fasted for 21 hours except for a handful of peanuts 200 calories:
vegetable lo-mein for about 400 calories
rice 300 calories
peanut butter on a tortilla about 400 calories

Tell me more about me to helping inflammation. I have chronic arthritic inflammation, bad enough to show up in bloodwork. Dr. doesn't offer any real fixes. I worry about the effect of the inflammation on the whole.

@DotLewis I don't remember the details, but fasting is supposed to increase hormones that affect inflammation. Search youtube for KenDBerryMD and watch "11 Ways the Ketogenic Diet Can CHANGE Your Life." You may also be interested in "How To Fix Loos Sin from Weight Loss." He has many videos, including one that is a legal disclaimer and satire; it says that the ketogenic diet is the worst." I'm sure that it is insurance against loosing his license.

There are others with similar videos.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
