Keeping it short tonight, have to be up early tomorrow for an out of town appointment. Kept my calorie intake for the day under 1100 so it went fine. It may have been slightly under 1000 but can't swear to it. Had watermelon after swimming that I didn't weigh. Did manage to stay in my eating window + 15 minutes. Tomorrow will be a bad "diet" day as I will travel, this time with some other people (Yeah, I have a driver for the trip home for a change) and we will eat somewhere in Kearney. Will likely violate my 8/16 eat/fast schedule as I will have coffee (with creamer) for the trip. Will decide in the AM whether to eat anything else before noon. Not so short! Bye.

There's just a small group who post here regularly and we seem to be doing well with our eating habits and weight loss. I keep wondering about the rest... there are 81 members in this group. Are they working on this or just watching, or neither? I want to hear how they've gotten their own eating habits under control. I don't call mine a "diet"... it's just eating healthy and forming great nutritional habits.

One thing I DO find is that eating anywhere other than home is a disaster. I'm skipping a noon buffet-lunch sales meeting at my broker's office today because they just never have any healthy food options... they serve rich fat, sugar and salt-laden comfort foods to attract the agents. One meal there seems to erase the good of 3-days of home eating.

Some members may feel uneasy about publishing their results. I hope they can do well without being open, but I am more apt to cheat without the diary. For me it is a necessity. For example, I had an English muffin this morning, which was a big no no. I'll need to eat very skinny for the remainder of the day.

@EdEarl Likewise for me, Ed. I spent almost 6 months trying to get back to losing after holidays threw me off. It isn't that anyone in the group is going to give me a bad time if I cheat, it's that I would feel embarrassed if I totally blew off self control then had to record it. It is a way for me to keep myself honest, with myself. A great tool!

@DotLewis I understand. A chronic liar woudn't care what they said, but it wouldn't be any skin off my uh you know. I write here for me, so I won't lie to myself, like you.

I'm honest with my daily food journal and honest here. I don't need anyone watching me to be honest. And my weight records would refect any cheating whatsoever. I don't.

I get too busy, not in the forum as much in recent weeks. Apart from a mini disaster for my neice's 21st. I survived June on a cup of steamed vegetables per day, lots of coffee. Lost 12 kg (26.4 pounds). That is 20% of my goal down. Man this is hard.

@Rugglesby Is that for real? Is it healthy? Wow... I've been content with losing that amount per YEAR for the last 3-years. Can I ask what the starting weight was and proposed ending weight and date? Doctor OK with this? Stay healthy!

@mtnhome I hit 150 kgs, so 330 pounds, In 1999 I hit 156 kg and got down to 95 kg in less than 6 months, and down to 92 about 6 months after that, the goal was 88 which I never achieved. So now goal is about 95 which is about 209 pounds. I promised my daughter my weight would be down by her wedding next July. I hate dieting so if I get it down sooenr, I can enjoy some hting and still keep it down. Am yet to start the vigorous exercise. My plan is to just cut intake until I hit a plateau, hopefully my appetite will have waned a bit by then so won't hit me like a tank when I start burning heaps. No faith in doctors really, I like to play with them, so had him look at my failed eye surgery and busted shoulder in May, then next May will go back after the weight is gone. I have plenty of time and am not panicked, once I am back on the bike I knwo my food intake will increase some. You guys are partly responsible for my commitment, I saw some great efforts on here.

@Rugglesby So glad that this group has been an incentive to stick with something that works for you. Let's keep sharing stories like this.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
