29/07/2018 Diet Diary - everyone welcome
Having salad for breakfast because I forgot to get milk for cereal.
Day went well enough, considering I was again sucking water from the basement floor. There is a sump pump down there but the leak is unfortunately on the opposite side of the basement and it is a wandering route for water to get there. Anyway, up until 4 AM dealing with that. Didn't eat thought, except for a peppermint.
Today, kept calories under 1100 and stayed in the eating window of 8 hours. That even included a chicken leg from Church's. Fried chicken is a weakness for me, although NO ONE makes it like my granny did. I spent years eating fried chicken 4-6 days a week.
Did a bunch of yard work. Although the temps were not real bad, in the 80's, if sweating counts for anything, I burned off a bunch of calories. Too bad it doesn't work like that, in my senior years I've found I can break out in a sweat looking at a weed.
Yesterday was a good day; continue.
Goal: reduce calories by 30-60% or about 1100 calories, but less is good until I reach my goal weight of 200 lbs. 150 to go, 100 lost already.
Breakfast
100 toast
Lunch
400 Vegetable Stew w/ beans and sunflower seeds
50 Cherries
Dinner
200 PB sandwich
Exercise
Goal: 200 steps and 1100 curls w/ 5lbs each hand ...
Done: 125 steps and 1000 curls...was tired today. The quality of my walk is improving; tho, quantity is not.
GOOD WORK on the loss so far.
Good approach, IMO. Whatever food you choose to eat, managing the amounts to manage the calories seems like the best approach to be prepared to maintain. I'm eating much of the same stuff I normally would but in limited quantity. Some more so than others, for example, I still have ice cream occasionally but when I get a container, I scoop 1/2 cup into a 4 oz. container and put it in the freezer so I'm less tempted to overdo when I have it. I'm optimistic that I will be able to maintain this time if I just continue in a similar fashion after reaching goal but allow a few more calories.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
