06/09/2018- Diet Diary - Well, the rest of the story - the fridge is SO much happier now that the ice and long build-up has been removed. It is cooling like a champ and the freezer section is not frosting up around the door. Guess it was time well spent.
The day is still young (for me)so not sure what count will be, currently at 374 and plan to keep low today. Also avoiding salt as much as possible, had a couple salt heavy days and had a significant bounce. I seem to be increasingly sensitive to salt intake.
@CeliaVL has given my motivation a boost. ? She kept her calories way low yesterday. Kudos to her! Keep up the fight, everyone.
Finished the day at 802 calories. Usage for the day, based on BMR+exercise was 2386 for deficit of 1584. Deficits like that should make for progress, if I keep some control on the salt intake.
Well, the fridge is doing well, even if you feel a bit disappointed in your progress. It sounds to me as if you are doing really well. It is easy for me because I have only just started and I am full of enthusiasm.Yesterday was a fast day and i stuck to it - under 400 calories. I am going to have a difficult day on Saturday with some friends coming to lunch, so I shall try and keep today's calories well down as a preparation.
I'm quite pleased that the fridge is happy. I don't want to have to deal with replacing that. The deep freeze died in late winter. I had to farm out food to different friends and some to the OLD freezer in the garage while I tried to find a replacement. Then moving all the food back to the basement. So much fun!
My enthusiasm is down a bit currently. I'm down 15 pounds since June and I think I'm just having some "been at it long enough" feelings. Still staying close to goal intake, at least below daily requirements so shouldn't have gain but I was hoping to reach my next goal before Thanksgiving so don't want to stray too far from the diet.
I do intermittent fasting, an 8/16 schedule but I haven't done a fruit fast for quite some time. Should fit one in, I've been thinking about it the last week or so. It allows most fruits but limiting things like bananas. According to some, it "cleanses" the system. No solid proof on that though. Summer is certainly the best time to do those. Have to give it some thought. Sounds like you are off to a good start. Those friends and family things are always a bump in the diet road. Doing one next Wednesday, "old-timers lunch" where veterans of the social services office I worked at get together for lunch. I haven't been for a couple years so decided to go this month. Will have to make the day revolve around lunch.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
