09/09/2018 - Diet Diary for All
Day 2 of the fruit and veggy fast. Didn't go as well as day 2, in terms of calories which finished at 800, although I did stick to the fruit/veg only part. My downfall was watermelon at the end of the day. I can definitely eat some watermelon. The info I read on this fast doesn't say you have to keep the calories under a set number, just not to go totally nuts. I figure I kind of went nuts on the watermelon but 800 calories isn't truly nuts.
Did a lot of yard work today, dug some serious weeds that I should have eliminated much earlier. Also picked the pears that my tree did produce this year. Not many of them compared to past crops but enough for some fresh eating. I am still worried about the tree, it is 33 years old and not doing as well as it used to. It needs a lot of pruning but I'm going to have to study up on how to do that.
On to day 3, the last day of the "fast". Definitely thinking about food, more so than normal for this time of night. I could sure eat some celery right now, but only with peanut butter and raisins on it.
I agree, 800 calories is not a crazy amount. I love watermelon, but it has too much sugar that's not good for a diabetic.
Goal 1200 calories 1000 curls w/ 5 lbs and 250 lifts above head
Breakfast Brown Rice and sunflower seeds 300 calories
Lunch Chili and Brown Rice 400 calories
Dinner 2 tacos, one chili and egg white, and one peanut butter. 600
Attached picture of me today, and one of me with my grandson on 2/14/2016. I weighed about 450 in 2016 and around 350 today.
800 curls and 200 lifts of 5 pounds in each hand.
Good job, EE. That's determination! I've only lost 45 pounds and there are certainly days when I would much rather have a burger and fries (OFF the menu for me) than a healthy, low fat lunch. Keep up the hard work.
@DotLewis When young, I loved double cheeseburgers. Then I learned they weren't good for me, and quit eating them. I started to stop eating them, but ate one infrequently. That went on for a while, say a decade, with fewer and fewer transgressions (eating a burger). After a few years, I took a bite of a burger and it tasted like a fat ball; I've not craved a burger since. Our likes and dislikes change. Yours will too.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
