Well, looks like I've finished the day with 1047 calories in and a real lesson in the importance of planning and measuring ahead. Had a huge salad for supper, complete with grapes and sunflower seeds. Not a problem, with the rest of the day's intake was still under 900 calories.

I have a bag of seasoned croutons, decided to have some with my salad. Bag label says "serving" is 2 Tbsp for 35 calories. I prefer my croutons, these being around 3/4 " x 3/8 " thick, on the side. So, while I'm eating salad with the occasional crouton, quite tasty I might point out, I was trying to figure how many cubical croutons were going to fit in a tablespoon. The FitWatch database showed a huge range per croutons but didn't offer measurements.

Finishing supper, I decided the logical step to be sure about the serving size, I got out the scale and read the label again. A serving was 7gr, which immediately gave me pause, I've weighed some stuff, 7 grams add up REAL fast. Started putting croutons on the scale, 1,2,3, WHAM!! That was it, 7 grams! WHO THE F%&K DECIDED THAT 3 CROUTONS IS A F-ING SERVING?

WHY NOT JUST PUT ON THE PACKAGE THAT ONE F-ING CROUTON IS 11.5 F-ING CALORIES??? HOW THE D DO YOU GET A MEASUREMENT OF TWO TABLESPOONS WITH THREE CROUTONS, CUT ONE IN HALF? THE LUNACY!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??

Yes, I was yelling, on the inside anyway. Rant over, I guess. I was just a bit (understatement) annoyed thinking about the better use I could have made with those 170 <> calories I "spent" on croutons.
