Later than usual getting to this. Had to prep tomatoes for canning tomorrow, spent about 2 hours at the sink, cleaning, peeling some and cutting up. Great way to get a pain in the back, hunched over too much. Fortunately, standing straight ends it pretty quickly.
Calorie intake, 1095 for the day with higher output than usual. Dr visit tomorrow so will see what their scale shows lost for the past 3 months, since my last visit. Theirs always weighs about 3 pounds heavier than mine at home but it should be consistent so will gauge total loss.

I've watched my mother can, but not tried it. Sooner or later, I'll grow tomatoes and need to can them. We will have to buy a bit pan, jars, lids, etc.

@EdEarl Be careful, if you start it you will be shocked how quickly the supplies accumulate. First you have a box or two of jars and lids, a canner (big pan, I strictly water-bath, no pressure canning) then you'll decide you need the big funnels and a "lifter", then there will be a end of season sale on jars, so pick up a couple more boxes and another BIG pan to cook up the stuff to put in the jars while everything is hot so the first big pan isn't enough. Then, get a half dozen extra boxes of flats so you are sure to have them handy when you start canning and lay in some ascorbic acid to add to the tomatoes (vinegar if you prefer) and before you know it you will need an entire shelf unit to store all the stuff. I speak from experience! 😀

@DotLewis LOL, sounds about right.

I had a lousy Friday and Saturday, but was back on it yesterday and am good so far today (I work overnight, so breakfast is my last meal of the day after I wake up at 7:30 or 8pm). I got a new (used) bike and I'll be riding again soon!! Oh, and I still lost 5 pounds in spite of the 2 less than stellar days!

Good job on the loss. Lousy days come up now and then and sometimes they are good for you. I don't ascribe to dieting so rigidly that you never allow yourself a treat or a reward. As long as you don't let it take control, it is just a day. Hope the bike works out well and your next week goes the way you want.

Good for you on two counts:: you lost 5 pounds and ride a bike. I'm looking forward to the day when I can ride again; though, I'll get a recumbent trike; I don't feel safe on a two wheeler any more.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
