22/10/2018 - Diet Diary- For anyone to share their diet day in a comment below.
Sometimes I'm late to make these, so please feel free to do so yourself. Just copy this preamble and change the date.
Damn! Perspective! Had a big-ass salad for supper, complete with sunflower seeds, bacon bits and grapes. Very tasty. Then I thought I'd have a few peanuts. Dry roasted with salt. Wisely, decided to really keep it at a few, 5 to be exact. That was 30 calories. I sat here thinking about that and the fact that my huge salad had about the same calories as a third cup of peanuts. That is just wrong!
Got more trim prepped and primed today. How much of my year's paint project gets done depends on how long the weather holds. Each time I finish a portion, I realize the next portion needs work. The good news, the part I've finished looks good.
Stayed in the eating window today, finishing at 877 calories. May still have a cup of coffee or sugar free cocoa tonight but no more food. I'm chilled again, was freezing for a while, Raynaud's syndrome kicked in, lot of that this fall, too. FINALLY, hands are warming up, feet are still cold but not freezing. Not sure what has triggered this but a hot beverage sure goes down well when I get chilled. Settled on the SF cocoa for another 50 calories
I woke up hungry, and decided to give myself a free day, I'll not report my daily diet today.
I don't know how much I ate. I rebelled today, but will continue my lifestyle change tomorrow. I have not changed any part of my life without reverting to my old habits for a day once in a while, and not just once. I began reducing my meat, fish and fowl intake when I was about 30, but I was in my fifties before I succeeded enough to feel healthier. Yesterday, I ate a little chicken. It still tastes good, so my conversion is not yet complete. Whereas, pork and hamburgers hold no allure, and it has been a very long time since I had any desire for either. On the other hand, I recognize that chicken and fish available today are typically less wholesome than they were once, because factory farms push the growth of animals with hormones and high fat food, and keep them in crowded high stress pens or worse. The best meat is not as good for a person as many vegetables, so my desire for a taste is waning, but cognition does not always rule emotion.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
