Back again. Had full on turkey supper yesterday. More constrained today, had around 1100 calories. Need to resume control, which I pretty well surrendered for the last 3 days. Not acceptable for the long term, weight always comes back WAY easier and faster than it went. Put away the "treats" today so they are not such a temptation. Eating at a friend's house tomorrow so I won't have leftovers to deal with. Guess I'm set.

Three days being out of control is more than I'm willing to lapse, but when I am closer to maintenance, maybe. I'm not sure how much I'll eat tomorrow, but at the moment, my intent is to laps form my usual 1200 calories toward the 2400 FDA nominal for my height...hopefully no more than 1800.

I'm confident you will get back to your goal.

@EdEarl I was not happy about letting it go for 3 days. I knew Sunday would be a challenge as I was baking and sampled a couple of the items I made. As it turned out, I was still under (not by much) my limit on Sunday. Unfortunately, the next day was worse, going over my limit and yesterday, I didn't even finish recording everything. This did cost me, of course, so today I worked at being more careful. Tomorrow will be less structured although I will work on limiting pre and post dinner eating then will get hold again on Friday.

I planned to be on maintenance starting yesterday but the cost of the last 3 days is that I am now above my last goal again. So, I will do some corrective work between now and Christmas to get it back to my goal.
Annoyed? Yes! But not discouraged, just a setback but one that can be easily remedied. I just have to keep in mind that this will be an ongoing thing, not going too far out of limits and addressing it promptly when weight pops up. Sadly, the days of free-feeding are gone for me.

My best to you for tomorrow. Hope it goes well and that you also get to enjoy some of the special foods that will be there, even if it is just a little bit. Sometimes, a bite or two is enough to feel like you weren't really deprived of something special. Happy Thanksgiving.

@DotLewis I've been not eating meat for such a long time that I don't crave it anymore. Moreover, when I have eaten meat over the past couple of years, I've been disappointed. There are two foods that I like too much, bread and sweets. I'll have some of each this T-day. They are so bad for my diabetes, that I'll not overdo them greatly. I'll have a sliver of pumpkin, pecan or key lime pie; whatever we have. I imagine there will be vegetable dishes with too much fat in them that will push my calories too high. Damn, LOL.

@EdEarl Well, whatever stuffs your turkey. (You know what I mean). I'm a committed omnivore, lighter on meat products than a lot of people but I do eat it. Bread and sweets are a weakness for me also.

I quit baking bread (except for quick breads) because a loaf of fresh baked bread will turn me from someone who takes probably a month to eat a loaf of (store) bread to someone who could eat half the loaf in an evening. Quick breads have to be carefully rationed they combine sweet with bread. What I don't give away, I keep in the freezer.

And don't even get me started on pecan pie! I LOVE pecan pie. Fortunately, a sliver is generally quite adequate for me. It is SO sweet that I don't really want to eat a full piece at one time. The small piece will satisfy me where a sliver of pumpkin pie will leave me wanting more.

Well, it is just one meal out of hundreds so I hope you enjoyed yours as much as I did mine. Would have been a good day overall had it not been for my little dog having seizures last night/this morning. Had to keep her close all day. She is past it now so should be good for a few weeks.
