Has anyone else found salt to be an issue in weight loss? I have found that if I have ham or bacon, like a serious amount but lean, I hold lots and lots of fluid for about 3 days, then suddenly weight plummets back down on the 3rd or 4th day.

Ive never a problem with salt... It can be an issue though... Try some low sodium food and get back in touch with the real flavor of food... Also, vinegar is a good substitute for salt ... I use vinegar instead of salt when I made homemade salsa ...

Yes, salt will definitely cause a weight bounce for me if I eat very much of it. Things like that "binge" on peanuts (maybe 1/2 cup) will pop weight up as much as 3-4 pounds the next day, then it takes DAYS to bring it back down. My salt intake is actually not bad most of the time. Last CBC showed slightly low chloride levels which Dr. said is likely just low salt intake since I hadn't had conditions(like vomiting, fever, etc.) to cause it. Despite the retention potential, I get salt crazy every now and then and suck in significantly more than normal, knowing I will pay for it on the scales.

Yes, salt causes my weight to vary significantly, perhaps 20 lbs.

Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.
