12 April 2019 - Diet Diary - Here's a visual for you: Imagine me rolling on the (nice plywood) floor, clutching my knees and yelling after I missed starting one nail and smacked my thumb good with the hammer. NOT a pretty sight (or sound) but the good news is, I only hit a digit one time during the evenings nailing. I pounded in around 325 nails tonight, emptied the first box. I decided that was a good stopping point. Have a second box so will open it tomorrow and finish up.
The adage about measure twice, cut once proves true again. Actually it was more of a measure every point. I did cut the second board to the right length with just a 1/8" clearance but unfortunately, when I installed the "peninsula" in the kitchen, I did not line it up with the opposite wall. After putting 100+ nails in this 4'x5' sheet of plywood, I looked at the edge that went under the toe-kick and the end where I had measured was a perfect fit, 4' away, at the other end of the peninsula there was a gap of almost 1 inch. I will have to cut a piece to fill that wedge. ? Never thought about measuring both ends of the space. ?
Went shopping for myself and neighbor today, took truck for servicing then came home and pounded nails. Intake for today was 1035, even had my night cup of coffee (decaf) which the return of cold weather made an necessity. Got some "syrup" that is sugar free, caramel flavor, to add to coffee. It is really good. Sweet enough to skip additional sweetener plus a little caramel taste. My coffee consumption generally goes way down when summer comes but for now, nice HOT sweet cup hits the spot. ?
Sorry you hit your nail - I know from experience how painful it is. I can also feel for you on the measuri g. Having made a really bad mistake with curtains once, I am now fanatical about measuring and remeasuring and getting someone else to check my figures.
I don't like sweetened tea or coffee, but I do like a mug of hot chocolate when the evenings are cold.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
