26 April 2019 - Diet Diary - Thought I had the door fixed, sanded the bottom taking almost 1/2" off part of it and leveling it out. Rehung it, looked and the gap under the door looked great, very even all the way across. Problem is, once the rubber gasket is installed the gap is not big enough and it is almost impossible to close the door. Will have to take the door off again, sand it more then seal that before rehanging. Such fun!
Did well on eating today, finished at 1025. Yesterday's big bounce turned out to be most likely water retention from having several salty snacks the day before. Bounced up 4 pounds overnight but today was back down to only .6 pound above where I had been the day before. Still below my May 15 goal, except for the day of the bounce. Think I have claimed victory on that one, now for the final goal.
Doors are a permanent problem in this house. We are on ground that shifts seasonally and the result is that doors sometimes fit and sometimes don't. In yourvSe it sounds as if you just have to grit your teeth and redo it. Better than trying to level a table! With that kind of water retention, I can see why you try to moderate your salt intake. Keep up the good work.
I get some of that ground heave, too. Have some cracks in corners where house shifted and from time to time doors that almost won't open/close. The kitchen door fits well down the sides (thankfully) but the top has a gap that gets bigger as it goes toward the opening and the bottom gap gets smaller toward the opening. The top will have to stay that way as I don't want the whole thing gaped 1/2 inch. The bottom is visually almost even now but obviously it, or more likely the floor is not where it needs to be. Will take it off again tomorrow and plane/sand a little more off and hopefully get a nice seal at the bottom.
I do suck up the moisture when I eat salt. Fortunately, so far the salt doesn't seem to have a direct effect on my blood pressure. I try to not get too carried away with it but some days it sneaks up on me. That day, it wasn't sneaky, chips and Gardettos are obvious salt laden snacks but I ate them anyway. That is why, when I do buy chips, I weigh them out and put them in sandwich bags, only 1 oz in a bag. That way, when I have them I at least stop after a "serving" rather than eating from the whole bag. Only really effective way for me to deal with that type of food.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
