3 June 2019 - Diet Diary - How do we accumulate SO MUCH JUNK? I have to purge some of this stuff, I have craft supplies for everything I ever tried and when I tried a craft, I rarely went at it half-heartedly. Has me wondering if I will ever again crochet, paint, hook rugs, sculpt clay, etc. Always THINK I will when I start to go through the supplies but then another year passes and I didn't do these things. That is sad.

So, that's how the day went. Eating wise it wasn't bad, finished around 1060 if calculations on the soup were accurate. Went to exercise class, took the fan back and it worked well, no noise, nothing flying off it at high speed. 🙂 Now, time to head to bed as it is after midnight. Wednesday is eye appointment out of town. Need to box up some stuff to take to Goodwill when I go. Not tonight though.

I have two room dedicated to crafting...I am purging all of the supplies and things I am no longer interested in...we have a creative reuse place close by that takes everything from yarn to beads. I have boxed up books and so fabric...it feels great to just have the things I will really use...makes me more creative...

I have found that crafting keeps me from mindless snacking...especially in the evening...I knit or crochet mostly...

good luck on your journey...don't eat too few calories or you will screw up your metabolism..your body will send signals for you to eat more...

Yes! I'm gathering stuff to take to my Animal shelter good-will store. They're the best of all the locals...loaded with little treasures...very reasonable...negotiable...thanks for the inspiration!

Not a good diet day....I gave in and had a "muscle brownie" before bedtime..gained a little....

I need to find some better "outlets" for donations. The Goodwill store often gets the stuff and it isn't because I love the business model of Goodwill. I do like that people can purchase some pretty nice stuff there for a lot less than retail. If the local thrift store is taking donations, I go there. They use their sales income to help people in the community like someone with light disconnect or out of food. They get full though and stop taking donations every so often. Need to do a little research on this. Have some really dumb stuff, like a bunch of VERY nice Beanie Babies, with tags, which are worthless 😟 but night be good if someplace like a children's center or hospital wanted them to give to kids.

A brownie of any kind sounds rather good right now. Have to get to bed earlier than usual so will avoid more food. Up and down, comes with the territory. Sometimes I wish I was not so OCD that I just have to weigh in every day. On the other hand, if I start skipping some days, pretty soon it could lapse into skipping some weeks then months and we all know how that turns out.

@DotLewis I don't call "weighing oneself daily" as OCD...that's wise health management to me; nothing obsessive, or disorderly, about trying to be aware of one's diet and fitness. If OCD helps me live longer; then dammit, I'm OCD too and proud of it!

As we get older I think a lot of us feel the need to get rid of stuff. Not everyone though - I would love to clear the house, sell all the books, move to a tiny house with the minimum of stuff near to the people who are important to me but my 87 year old husband simply refuses to do any of these. You may well go back to doing some of the crafts. You have plenty of years left! It sounds As if you are back on track with the calories. I look forward to your reaching your goal.

I am my worst enemy when it comes to purging. I always start thinking about "what if I need it again?" or where it came from or what it cost then talk myself out of getting rid of it. If I can find someone who "wants" it, I don't mind but I absolutely HATE the idea of throwing things in the trash that are perfectly good. My grandmother really instilled in me a hatred for waste.

@DotLewis I agree about throwing things away - anything worthwhile has to go to a good home. I have a large quantity of craft bookbinding equipment from the past which I am looking for a home for, but I will keep it rather than just throw it out
