24 June 2019 - Diet Diary - Not too bad today, exceeded my 1200 calorie goal but not by much. Had a little lapse in control in the late afternoon, after yard work. Supper went well enough and would have been good but was on an eating roll so had about 1/3 of one of the leftover enchiladas. Last few days have been having some problems with stopping once I start eating. Not planning out the meal properly, just grabbing something from the fridge then instead of walking away, grab something else.
Same goal tomorrow, under 1200 but will try planning ahead of the meal, not just free feeding. Recording is good but since it is usually after the meal, by the time I add it up, it is too late to say, "Oh, too many calories in that".
Bedtime now. Need rest, lot of yard work today.
You did seem more in control when you were planning meals. I agree on grabbing things out of the fridge. You have to make sure you take it away and make yourself aware that this is your meal. I think otherwise your body and brain think you haven't had a meal.
I think that's right. The body for sure (which may not be listening to the brain anyway) seems to discount those "grab and stuff" meals, relegating them to the status of mere snacks. So, of course the body then insists that more is required to keep it running. Not sure where the brain is in the process, disengaged apparently or it would be capable of overriding the body hype and stopping the excess input.
When I think about my eating I am generally quite good at assessing how much I'm eating and about how many calories it will add. Sometimes though there seems to be an "automatic eating" gear where the body is more than capable of feeding itself with very little attention from the brain.
That is the gear I really need to avoid getting into.
Posted by OldMetalHeadI hit a new weight milestone this week. Still trying for the six-pack.
Posted by OldMetalHeadThe hardest part for me is not falling back into old bad habits after meeting goals.

Posted by JonnaBononnaI had finally gotten back on track after gaining back most of the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Posted by JurneeI have to say, as an overweight karate instructor, this is the one patch that I was ok with never getting.

Posted by DotLewis7 March 2020 - Diet Diary - Been quiet around here lately. I've not been on vacation, just keeping a low profile and trying to stay on top of things. Are those things incompatible?
