I came up with a hodge podge strength training routine... i wish i could afford a personal trainer, but fitness isn't for poor people, I guess...

No, it's personal trainers that are not for poor people... or smart rich people. There are a gazillion ways to do it on your own, with no trainer, no special foods, and no (or few lo-cost) purchases. Walk, jog, climb a steep hill at a fast pace, do push-ups, pull-ups, buy (cheap) latex resistance bands (Amazon $10). The only thing the "personal trainer" does is stand there and watch you do it. But he/she won't stand guard at the refrigerator, so a little willpower is needed on both. Eat HEALTHY foods, get out there and exercise outdoors and you should be fine. You can do it alone.

Agreed! Google and Youtube beginner/easy fitness workouts or read a good book on it. For starters, just walking more often! Best wishes.

@Spooner Yes, yes! Easy.

I can do cardio all day, but i need strength training in addition, and i have no clue. Yes, I'll figure it out, but a trainer would know what i need to do to get desired results, would provide some accountability and would push me harder than I'd push myself I'm sure.
