I have a theory on the wearing of masks.
A person goes out, in trepidation, without a mask and a week later has not caught Covid, so the person is more relaxed about not wearing one. The person mixes in larger and larger groups and still remains Covid free. Multiply that by a thousand and subtract the 0.5% who do catch Covid-19 (5 people) and you have 995 people clamouring for the right not to wear a mask. Not until the incidence of infection is above 5%, thereby affecting an average of one in twenty of the people the anti-maskers know, will this idiocy cease.

Currently the infection rate is fairly low and chances of survival are quite high (depending on your health). So leaders say don’t bother, you see large crowds doing it with no apparent detriment so behavior is reinforced. Unfortunately, most people don’t understand the lag time with infections, or the rate which it can spread......until it is too late

The thing that these asshat idiots fail to understand it' not about THEM but about others. We live in a society of people and the whole idea of masks is to try and keep the virus from spreading. Other's wearing a mask is what protect you!!! The christian nuts seem to have forgotten the idea of love thy neighbor. Neighbors loving and caring for each other is what will, in the end protect everyone.
