Introverts can be social and outgoing. But yes it takes skill and practice. My job requires me to be the center of attention quite often and I had to get past fears to be good at what I do. Therapy and life experience helps a lot.

@Wildflower I took two different jobs that are frightening for a shy person like myself. Most of the time, I can "act" the part required. But sometimes I do get really anxious. It's hard to describe the feeling but it's awful, even traumatic. I stew over it sometimes. But it has taught me patience and understanding of myself, and to accept others view me differ from how I feel when that's happening, so that gives me courage to go on.

@ownworstenemy I too will become disoriented while performing my job. I'm a counselor and facilitate group therapy sessions. I accept that it is part of me and point it out, almost make fun of me, as I feel that discomfort. Just bringing it out in the open helps me to regroup and be ok.
