I want to rant a bit...I'm in retail currently, and I have to say I'm surprised by the number of people who:
- do not know their own phone number
- do not understand how a coupon works
- do not read anything, anywhere, at anytime
- do not carry their wallet into the store
- do not know how to use their own bank card
The idiocy is exhausting...

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I have come across the not knowing the phone number thing in my business. Also clients don't know their own address or box number at the post office (we are rural so most of us have to get our mail from the post office).
When I used to train new employees at a former place of work, where we had to calculate billing amounts by hand, none of the new employees knew how to calculate the tax (GST). They didn't even know what the percentage is and as adults they have been paying GST many times in their lives.
When I tutored young adults, it really baffled me that none knew the basic times table. They had to use the calculator to figure out 1 x anything. Aaarrgghhh.
