I'm a casual gardener: I mostly plant what I like when I have the chance to take care of it. It looks as though a lot of my stuff will end up dead from our freeze in February, which has had me kind of down.

However, I just got what is great news for me: I love blue butterfly Clerodendrum. To me the flowers look like little fairies dancing around. Unfortunately, it's a little tetchy to this zone and I lost mine last winter. The good news is that my brother just sent me a picture of the seedling he had grown for me, and I'm tickled to tears! I'm going to wait a couple more weeks to plant it just in case. (The second photo is a branch from my previous plant.)

I think the worst gardner's mistake is in planting more than they can maintain (voice of experience)! Sounds like you're off to a good new start 👩🌾

I agree. It's one of the reasons I don't do planters anymore. We have a really long, hot season here, and all it takes to do in a year's work is to miss a few days of attention.

I managed to overwinter some pequin pepper plants that I am slowly starting to harden , you're welcome to one if you'd like.

@glennlab

You are so sweet, Glenn, thank you! Unfortunately, I can't eat spicy peppers so they'd be wasted on me. 😔 How did that beautiful rosemary plant do?

@Lauren It had some freeze damage, but it looks like it is trying to put out blooms. I need to do a major trim on it this year to kind of shape it up, so if you need any rosemary, it's free for the asking.

I made almost 2,5 quarts of hot sauce from one plant last year, but it is way too hot for me. It is a pretty plant and a perennial.

@glennlab I would love some rosemary, thank you!

@Lauren It looks like I'll be doing it sooner rather than later, the last couple days have shown a lot more damage than I thought, the leaves are still pungent though.

@glennlab I'm sorry. The damage at my place seems to be worse every time I look. I'm going to dive in and try to do some work this weekend. I guess it's understandable when it got so cold, so long.

What is it?

Never mind.
