Day 13!
I went out to take a picture..... chicks gone!
I sat on the verandah and quietly observed where the parents went. Chicks are "kind of" able to fly. Parents still feeding them.
They do fledge very quickly! I hope you don't have murderous crows in your area, as I do. They took out 2 nests in my yard a couple years ago, and I witnessed wild aerial battles between crows & robins in the tall trees out back. This is my 'Mama' this season, well-hidden now in the Virginia Creeper outside my office window, in a sheltered corridor where crows don't venture. Fingers crossed!
Wait, what? Are they gone or are the parents still feeding them?
They're out of the nest. But appear to be still dependent on the parents for food.
@bigpawbullets I got that...sheesh, can’t a person make a joke?
@MsKathleen
Sorry Kathleen.... yes, they're just like college kids.
@bigpawbullets Exactly.
