The garden visiting season is coming to an end now, but after several weeks of cold grey weather it turned bright and sunny yesterday for a last visit, to a really lovely garden. Much money was raised for charity, the cakes were full of extra calories and the stall holders did well. Its an old formal garden, round a old house that is being modernized, I came away with a few good ideas to go with the extra waistline.
What lovely gardens, and I love the water feature!
Gorgeous! I love that about British culture. We have garden tours in the U.S., but it is not nearly the widespread intitution it appears to be on your side of the pond.
So am I green with envy or just envious of your green?
Mainly with private gardens, it is down to a couple of charities organizing it all. Especially the National Gardens Scheme, which raises money mainly for cancer treatment, nursing and research causes.
Lovely. Lucky you, to have the opportunity! The only formal gardens I have ever visited were at the San Anton Palace in Valleta, Malta, which are extensive and beautiful. I hope to visit proper English gardens whenever it is safe to travel again.
I am sure you will.
@MsKathleen Take a breath, then another. Life can be hard to maintain sometimes, but at least the effort is small.
@MsKathleen that sounds good anyway.
