Good morning Gardeners. It is so damn hot. I have to make more than one trip to the garden today, So I'll take pictures later. I got zucchini and a few yellow neck squash, I think they are slowing down because of the heat. Plenty of cucumbers to pick, and green beans. And the beets are ready to pull up too. Tell me how your day is going.
To help with the heat Ken I used to rip old towels into 6_8 " wide strips. Soak in cold water and tie around the neck. The evaporation in the heat creates evaporative cooling.
Another way is to wet and then roll the towel in a 1" cylinder. Wrap that into a cylinder shape with Plastic Wrap. Freeze the cylinder. Take frozen and wrap around neck. Replace when it gets hot.
Wear with broad brimmed hat to prevent cancer on the ear shell tops.
I misread this . I read Ken saying his crop was slowing down due to the heat . When I read your comments for keeping things cool , I was thinking keeping the veggies cool so they would continue to produce . I must be suffering from heat stroke ? ? ?
My day is going well ! Thank you for asking! It’s going to be another scorcher here today something like 98° but it was like 103 yesterday and the day before. Just drinking some lemon-limeade and staying cool ???
