They grow wild here but they only have 4 petals and vary from light blue to white. They don't bloom for another 2 weeks though.

Wow! How wonderful. Where are you located?
@Spinliesel Central Alberta, Canada. You find them in heavily shaded areas like along old grow in line fences where chemical sprays have not been used.
I will see if I can get some pic's when I check my cows, then post them.
Purple ones! Lovely.

I also have a light blue one with a dark center but could not get a picture (shadows falling) We have a local clematis breeder . They have an open house every spring and give away one plant. I try and go every year!
