One interesting fact is that there is a sex linked dark form, in which the female is all black with some iridescent blue on the hindwings.
Often times, you can see darker tiger stripes on these color morphs.
The males are the gene carriers and are always of standard colors.
This dark form is a mimic of the toxic Pipevine Swallowtail
