Spring is starting to bounce down here in Western Victoria, Australia. Normally I do not have cut plants preferring to see the flowers in the garden. Recently however one of the op shops that I patronise has been having a 90 yo woman donating little bunches of flowers from her yard.
So rather than see them waste and wilt in the shop over the weekend I've been buying them to give some live colour and perfume. Here is last Friday's dollars worth.
we are in autumn and fading fast these are lovely pics.
They could have been clearer if I had a clear foot square space to photograph them in - I dont.
Yes I agree it is a fabulous bunch of mixed blossoms.
Nothing wrong with someone selling cut flowers for income .
Proceeds in this case to the local hospital.
I like to have flowers in the garden and the house - it make the house seem more of an extension of the garden.I live in a very hot summer climate and flowers last a lot longer indoors than out.
I use a lot of artificial flowers in and outside.
Nice! About cutting flowers or not, I have been growing mostly roses for the past 40 years. I also prefer them in the garden. But two things lead me to cut them to bring in: excessively hot periods, in which the flowers quickly wilt or shrivel on the bush, and incoming strong rain or wind storms, that can be expected to batter the blooms and destroy them.
