Making Pumpkin purée and roasting pumpkin seeds. We had to use store pumpkin since the vine borers destroyed our pumpkins this year.
I purchased 4 pie pumpkins, and have cooked them up and roasted the seeds. I have the seeds handy for snacks. I made pumpkin soup and have frozen some of it for future meals. Yummy!
Thanks for posting that. After 40 years in the country, I have still not developed a taste for squash. I did not grow any this year but have two large ones to get rid of. They will go to the squirrels and criters in the woods along the creek. I'll be chopping them up with my axe and leavong them for the animals.
Also, sheep and goats love pumpkins, but ask the owners first before throwin them over the fence.
Have you tried pumpkin bread?
@Donto101 It is probably delicious, but Type 1 diabetic over here. It probably has too many carbs for my metabolismn. I like pumpkin seeds, though.
Bears like pumpkin too.
