And then you won't be able to get rid of them!
Ha!
I hear that from those down south. Here in ohio... our winter kills them off if you don't dig up the bulbs and store them inside.
@bigpawbullets Yes, I know. I lived in ne Ohio for about 12 years. I found it amusing. They would be so proud of their honeysuckle vines!
Looking good so far. We were very successful with cannas from seed. They are now spreading like weeds!
I live well above the freezing zone. We have to dig them up every year and winter them over in the garage....
@bigpawbullets We normally overwinter cannas in an unheated polytunnel but they have seeded into the open ground are are surviving in -4 C! I think they are tougher than given credit for - but it may depend on the type. I think the small-flowered ones are tougher than the large-flowered ones.
@CeliaVL
You give me hope for my Canna bed!
But we're supposed to be below zero here for a few days.... we'll see come Spring!
I wonder how long it takes to make a bloomable plant
I couldn't find any data on that. With Calla lilies, usually three years. I'm just hoping for some good bulbs to dug up and winter over at the end of this season.
@bigpawbullets If you don't produce any let me know, I'll send you some.
Aww, little babies!
The gardening cats tried to come in and "inspect" when I took that picture.....
