Wow, I have a bunch and it amazes me how they send up a long shoot which drops down and transplants itself. I would love for these succulents to move into areas I constantly have to weed.
I have never seen a patch that big here in the UK, except perhaps on a roof. It was traditionally grown on rooftops and was thought to stop lightening striking. which is how it got the name Houseleek I am told. Houseleek just means house plant, because "leek" once just meant plant.

I have one plant in a pot and havce to coddle and pamper them.I don't think it likes our cold and snowy winters, or just me.
Looks like ice plant. It’s the scourge of the North Coast, lol. I think they planted it for erosion back in the fifties. I don’t see it as much now, so they have been working on it! Now the biggest plant pest there is Scottish broom.
This kind is like a big Hen & Chicks--looking at them from above you'd be able to tell easily. Ice plant does seem to get those red tips some time of year though, doesn't it?
