Thanks Kathleen. As much as I hate weeding I often find it therapeutic. I have gardened for decades and love this activity. Now I am finding I am having to let go of some garden activities. Your link reminded me of a program I recently found we have in our K-12 school. There is even a special teacher for this program. I often think I have this place figured out and then something comes along to show I don't.

I find vegetable gardening healthy in many ways. First, in spading up the garden, laying out the row, planting, mulching, etc. 3 times a year I get great exercise. Second, I get great nutrition from my green beans, yellow squash, red potatoes, tomatoes, white acre peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage, I get great nutrition. Third, both the tending the garden and the sharing of vegetables with friends and neighbors, I find good for my mental health-- and the sharing earns me a lot of good will.

I have herbs and tomatoes planted in my garden. I love sun ripened tomatoes fresh from the vine.
