Ive mentioned before that I cannot bring myself to discard plants I start from seed. This year we ran out of garden beds. So I tried putting various tomatoes, peppers, basil, and other assorted herbs in pots. Some are doing ok... some not. Always interesting though.

I have had good luck with basil in pots up here in Cleveland. The pots let me put them in places with great sun, which helps a lot, so long as I water them regularly and don't forget.

Same here, can’t throw out our plant babies. It’s amazing where you can find space for the plants when it’s needed

I can't throw away any plant. Sometimes I put them at the curb with funny "rescue me" signs on them.

I can relate. Any seed that tried hard enough to germinate I don' want to just kill it.
I just bought a mailorder pack of 100 hellebore seeds, the winter-flowering perennials all the rage in Britain. Of my supposed 100 seeds, I now have around 140 seedlings. I have no idea where exactly they are all to go. I have ordered a ginormous pack of 6 inch nursery pots. Come mid-fall, I will start arranging them around the shadier parts of my back yard. I will try to push extras on friends and family. I will see how that goes.

Hey how you faring in the weather there?

@RavenCT thnx for asking. I have been at my ex's all weekend(we have a teen to co-parent) as she was nervous to be by herself, in case of flooding or a tree falling or such.
So I haven't actually seen my own house since Friday night. Will go back tonight. Fortunately where we are it looks to have been just gusty and some significant rain, but not nearly as bad as was forecast. Never lost power here; will have to see about my own place. We had a tornado warning this morning, but no funnel made it this far. We still have Monday and Tuesday to get through before rain is expected to slack off. So long as no huge trees crush my house, I'll be good.

@RavenCT Here's a pic of my furbabies. See how traumatized they are by the storm evacuation to my ex's?? lol

@MikeInBatonRouge That's good to hear! Glad the furkids are doing well too. I know the last time I looked at the forecast they were worried about Monday for high water levels.

I hope you all stay safe!

@RavenCT went back to my house last night. All is well. Some rain bedraggled plants, but nothing serious.

@MikeInBatonRouge Oh good! So glad things are okay there.

We really need a 'Mark yourself safe' from natural disasters group.
Fires, earthquakes, and other natural disasters.

We keep getting crazy weather we'll need one.
