I do still have some hybrid daylilies. Last year only one bloomed and I thought they were being squeezed out by the "wild" variety. This year, these guys were all present in my flowerbed. A couple of the pictures aren't great, too sunny for the kindle camera. The second one actually is a different variety than the 6th one, throat color is diff. The last picture is of one that is very close to the wild variety, in fact last year I thought that was what they were. In the picture, I am holding a bloom from the wild ones than are trying to take over, it is the smaller one. The larger hybrid is also hardier than many of the more diverse varieties. Those, although they have all been planted for at least 8 years, were only able to produce 3-7 blooms each. Number 7 is prolific enough that tomorrow some of the buds and blooms are going into my "weed sautee".
