The Agapanthus are in full flower now. I am always amazed that we can grow these exotic bulbs in our climate, the trick is good drainage and full sun, though where I have seen them in the wild, in the warm south, they tend to grow in the shade. The same thing with the bulbus Irises which I found in the forests around the Med, You can not always use where things grow in the wild, as a guide to where they will grow for you, ( We grow alpines from high cold mountains, in greenhouses called alpine houses, after all. ) not without a little thought anyway.
