The joys and irritations of a country lake house include dogs that love to chew on styrofoam, naked ladies that appeared three years ago without being planted and a voracious wild grapevine that was also not planted. Then there is the invasion of the spiders and their webs that are always a lot worse in the fall. I have to go out with a broom to knock them down before I can go water my flowers.
No wonder I don't have a "naked lady" in my bed. Didn't know I had to plant her.
Yes, the north and east sides of my house is covered with wild grape vines and poison ivy. Amaranth has bloomed all summer and Goldenrod is taing its place. I used to be the Mistress of my Garden- no more. Four years of broken bones and disability and the vines are taken over. Oh yes, Deadly Nightshade is also claiming its place.
In addition to the naked ladies, I would welcome the spiders. They can help with other pest control.
