Found this useful site for monitoring soil temps. Will wait until soil temp is 60F before planting spring bulbs. Check out how average temps are rising. Wonder when they will revise growing zones?

Wow! I grew up in OH gardening alot, then moved to the foothills in Denver for 14 yrs, where nothing grew unless it was watered everyday. Now back in OH, and I REALLY notice the diff in weather from what I remember. Amazed that most of the bumblebees are gone as well, and haven't seen the first toad in my yard for 2 seasons. In suburbia, so of course everyone is poisoning the crap out of their yards. Have spent 2 summers putting in hardscape and beds in a totally naked yard. Can't wait to start putting in plants starting next year!
I understood that they had updated the standard zones at least once. They may need to do it again before too long.
Here is an interesting animation showing the change in USDA zones.
