Since I can't post pretty photos of Roses here are my Orchids. I have 7 - 3 have flowers - the other 4 have buds.
Yes that is a Christmas cactus in the middle that is finally thinking about blooming. 😁

A customer of mine has over eighty and keeps them in an orchid house where they take care of them until their ready to bloom and they deliver the blooming plant and pick up spent bloomer . I never had any luck with them myself and don't have an orchid house near by if I could even afford it .

Pick a south window and water once a week

WalMart now carries them. You can get one for under $20. πŸ‘

@dede18 be careful they are very addictive

I'm not very good with house plants and only have a little pot with 3 cactus plants. I could never get orchids to rebloom. πŸ‘

@dede18 @flower_nut
South window and I water them once a week. I start filling the kitchen sink with lukewarm water and add them to it. I wet the bark and set them in the sink, anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Drain the water and set them back in the window. I fertilize once a month. 4 of them were 'distressed' sale plants and they seem to be surviving - at least I get to find out what color they are going to be 😁

@Heidi68 You can also water them using ice cubes placed on the topsoil. It trickles down slowly and waters them perfectly.

@RavenCT I have heard that but haven't tried it. Am afraid to change my ritual since it seems to be working for me.

@Heidi68 I've been doing it for several years. I don't blame you for not switching if it works well for you!

I do the root soaking when I transplant them.

But the ice cubes have worked really well for me - this one is in it's third or fourth bloom. πŸ˜‰ It would have done better but one of the kitties decided to knock it on the floor which knocked it for a loop. (Root shock). The little terrors!

@RavenCT I keep thinking about going for a hike to find a cool log. I want to put some of my smaller ones one the log - then I might have to do the ice cube thing.
