I am so lucky to live here in Central Texas! There is so much wildlife and it sometimes has a wilderness feel to it.
I went to Pedernales State Park for the first time just to do a little hiking. Lovely and unspoiled!
This photo was taken at the front of my house. It’s one of the few surviving Yucca blooms as the deer tend to bite off the flowers before the actually bloom! I don’t know why the photo is flipped and can’t seem to fix it.
I call this photo “yucca at dusk”
How does your region fare during year long droughts? Your yard looks so lush. Deep in the heart of Texas could be hundreds of miles in many directions ....parts of Dallas looked lush but outside of town looks flat all the way to Oklahoma last year during my last visit....much of the earth could be gardened and many rain barrels filled to water plantings with too much sun
@Lightupmylife 100+°F temperatures do evaporate water sprayed by hand and city water bills would be enormous watering more than 12 hours per hot days....thank you for the reply ....deer population is high where you live ??
@Lightupmylife it is a horrible crunch sound when vehicle tires crush armadillos
@Lightupmylife like the crackle of stepping on a beetle
