Oh gawd I love okra
You can even make artist paper out of the inside of the bark from the stalk!!!
Thanks for posting. I understand it is an attractive looking plant. Just cannot bring myself to eat it.
Fry it! Never boil, stew or steam okra. That's just plain 'ole nasty, ha ha
@farmboy2017 I suppose it is not slimy when you fry it, but given the abundance of really cool vegetables, like kohlrabi or broccoli or aspargus or cucumbers, I won't be trying okra anytime soon.
@farmboy2017 I love it slimy with lawrys & some butter! My favorite! Sauteed!!! **** now i'm hungry! LOL
@Qualia Gak!! I'll stay with fried. But if you like it gumbo that's OK, ha!
Shame on me, I've never tried either growing nor eating.
It's a crop for hot environments. Humid or dry.
@farmboy2017 it should do well in our hot dry summer. But what of the taste?
@FrayedBear I can't really describe it but it's good. I like it in gumbo, too and that's weird for me.
