I have dwarf Cavendish bananas they only get about 5 feet tall easy to grow in container. And if that is still to big for you there is the Truly Tiny banana tree it only gets 2 to 3 feet y’all and produces bananas. I want to get some of them for my deck.

@Donto101 do you think a person could grow them tiny tiny in side?

And I’m envious of all the stone fruit you can grow up north. We are very limited on stone fruit here only a few will produce fruit with our amount of chill hours.

@Donto101 How do peaches grow your way? Also almonds and walnuts?

@btroje, @FrayedBear the university of Florida developed peaches and apples that grow down here. We have Pecan trees her don’t know about almonds and walnuts

@Donto101 I'm in a Mediterranean type climate very hot dry summers 10-15 inches annual rain mainly winter. I recently had local peaches and raved aboit them for a week on "Food Glorious Food". A very prolific walnut tree was next door, almonds grow in the drier parts, purple figs are prolific as are citrus trees...i love it when i can get boxes of yellow organic grapefruit from backyards - sadly too many grub them out because the taste has gone from fashion.

@Donto101 Oh, thank you, you mean you cannot grow cherries, plums, peaches, nectarines? I had no idea. I am surrounded here by apple, peach, cherries and pear orchards.

@Spinliesel there are couple of new varieties of apples peaches pears and plums that will grow my area now thanks to the University of Florida. We can grow a variety of black cherry but it’s very sour we can also grow the Barbados cherry. Then there’s the Jamaican cherry also known as the strawberry tree because the leaves look like strawberry leaves but it’s not a A real cherry the fruit looks like a cherry but it taste like really sweet cotton candy.

@Donto101 I just returned froma major greehouse . Saw banana trees, about 6 -8 ft tall. Also ordered a fig tree, should come in near Mother;s Day. I am so exited. Now i have to move furniture out to accomodate all these tall plants.
