I'm jealous
Don't be jealous....drop by in a month for strawberry jam on toast
@SkotlandSkye Sweet, planning the road trip now!
What variety are they?
I have no idea...the original runners came from my 80+ year old neighbor's garden
@SkotlandSkye Thanks!
Why buckets? Critters or runner containment?
Both of those too...but mostly for extra space and mobility. ????
@SkotlandSkye ah! Good plan all-around then! ?
I have a strawberry patch planned, but who knows when I'll get to it. The buckets look like a good idea. Do you leave them in buckets for next year? Thought you were supposed to pick blooms off the first year and harvest berries the second and continues years?
These started life in my raised beds and I transplanted them to take them inside for winter. I just put them in these buckets as their permanent home now.
They will be organic strawberries which are hard to come by!
Yes they are!
Looks good nice and colorful. Do you have drainage holes in the bottom?
Around the bottoms actually
@SkotlandSkye cool it did look like it in one of the pics zoomed in on that you posted. My girlfriend last year decided to plant some cat grass and one of my old baking pans. Which worked great until we got a hard rain which flooded her grass. So I had to drill holes in it for her. Just didnβt want your strawberries to flood.
@SkotlandSkye I hope you have more luck with your strawberries and we did our girlfriend picked up a hanging bag that you plant strawberries in They all died but one and then it just took off and blew up so we might get some strawberries. One out of eight is it too bad is it? LOL
