The trees are not terribly expensive but they do take a couple of years before they produce fruit.
Are they staying in the wheely bins?

They will be in the containers for at least a few years. Right now we are renters so the trees won't get their roots into the ground until we buy a house.

That's a great idea.
Haven't done much container gardening. Can you keep trees in containers over a long period of time? Is there a point when they have to be transferred into the ground?

They will be okay in this size containers for 3-5 years. I am hopeful that we will be able to buy a house and plant them in the ground before they outgrow their trash cans.
