The fist flowers here don't really come in spring but start in mid winter. It makes you think of spring though.

The Winter Aconites, Eranthus hyemalis, are out with us now, they are no relative of the true Aconites, its a very silly name. They flower despite hard frosts and snow and can carpet huge areas.

The worms have destroyed our seminal pumpkins. We wanted to make room for a fall garden so we pulled the pumpkins and beans. The flock eat good today.

Thanks Botany Buddies! I setup a little green house in an old disposable cake pan with a clear lid, soaked down my super-dried out moss and let it sit on my desk, away from the window over the weekend... SUCCESS! We have green again!!
