These are the baskets I planted earlier in the season for my older, frail , neighbour . They were all plug plants . I expect that the fact that the lucky sod gets the sun all day helps a bit .

Looks like I've gathered up the necessary stuff to construct that "bee hotel". Old cedar split rail fence posts cut to length for the "hotel" part. And my neighbor gifted me with some treated 2x6 scraps from his last job.
