Any suggestions for breaking a plateau? Iām doing Atkins and have lost 40 lbs but can move past this . Thanks
Atkins advocated a fat fast...macadamia nuts and cream cheese. I am keto and do it often. Minimal carbs...some protein...and fat fat fat. Butter, coconut oil, fat bombs, eggs, keto crack with butter (beef and butter fast). Conversely, sometimes a carb up busts you through a plateau. Choose healthier, fiber carbs like sweet potato or squash...maybe some fruit. IF is good...heals metabolism and insulin resistance especially. I also 16:8 most days
Try intermittent pasting
@jc2018 IF is much healthier and beneficial than calorie restriction, which is dangerous. See some of the YouTube videos by Dr. Jason Fung.
@iamjc Be careful with calorie restriction. It is one thing to eat at the level you need for your goal weight, but too deep of a deficit runs the risk of slowing your metabolism. IF avoids this. I have somewhat limited mobility (leg brace until early September) so I've adjusted my intake to my target weight for a person with limited activity; normally I work out 3-4 times a week. Since I have zero outside the house temptations (I do go out for cruth-walks 2-3 times a day plus other exercise) I have been hyper-focused on proper nutrition. It's working.
Net, be aware of calories but don't obsess. What you eat and when is more important.
Good luck on your journey.
