I have to low carb to maintain weight. To lose, I have to keep carbs below 30 grams/day AND low calorie. Low carb tortillas with added cellulose. Mostly salad with lean meat or stir fry veggies with lean meat. I lost 5 lbs last month- even had to give up wine! Recently attended a 2 day training session sitting on my butt and just ate what was available- sandwiches, pizza, cookies, scones, fruit. They put a bowl of candy at each place. Trainers were so huge they had trouble walking and could not stand for their presentation. Gained 3 lbs and came back feeling like CRAP! My hunger totally out of control again, no energy, dragging myself out for a walk, sleeping 9 hours a night, hurt all over.
Guess I needed to remind myself that I cannot eat like other people ever again or I'd be huge and feel horrible and sick. I did splurge and bought salami and goat cheese for a treat to get back on track. Next time I attend a training session, I'm packing my own food!
Good luck. It is simple to do the right thing, while also being really, really hard.
