How do you get over a plateau? My partner and I have been on keto for 9-mos. Like a lot of folks who start lowcarb diets, our initial weight loss was dramatic (20-30 lbs in the first 3 mos). Our results have been less spectacular in last six months however--even after adopting intermittent fasting (16/8 formula). But, we are still committed to keto bc it controls hunger and mitigates the desire to indulge in carb-laden snacks. My exercise routine is 3-4 sessions/wk, a 3 mi jog or kettlebell routine. I've also used exogenous ketones occasionally. Does this kind of plateu seem typical? Any suggestions on hoe to get over it?

While I do a keto-ish diet (beer is definitely the downfall) it does seem to have limits with regard to weight loss, I see tons of photos of people on other websites who do a good job of getting fairly healthy looking and vital but look like they might need to lose another 10 to 20 pounds or more. I'm not sure what the problem is but after looking at alternative diets it still seems that low carb high fat is the way to go

A couple of ideas:
-Keto is good. Take a look at what you are eating and eliminate less-than-stellar choices if any. For example, eliminate vegetable oils, no balsamic vinegar
-Try an experiment of doing thirty days of carnivore. It may break you through the plateau
-While not an advocate of calorie-counting, it is a factor. Are you eating the number of calories to meet your target weight at your activity level?

Good luck
