Me too. I was doing so well but then came the holidays. I think part of it is because I don't have my friend doing it with me anymore. I just need to clean out the fridge and go shopping for only things keto friendly. Good luck to you.

Try fasting for two or ideally, three days. Tens to bust cravings. While fasting, drink some salt water. Makes it easier.

I haven't managed more than 16 hrs on a fast... May have to go on a retreat to manage.

@Donna_I It can be done. If you can power through the hunger urges, you'll be surprised how easy it is. The first 48 hours or so are the most difficult. It gets easier. I often do 72-hour fasts and have done a few 120 hour/5 days. I am not some crazy tough guy. It's not that hard, provides great health benefits, and feels great. It also frees up a lot of time.

@Mitch07102 what protocols do you follow for the fasts? I am guessing you at least drink water on the longer ones.

@Donna_I Of course; I am not a fan of dry fasting although in select applications it has benefits. In one liter of water, I add 1/2 teaspoon of salt (pink Himalayan), 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of potassium chloride. Make sure to drink it slowly over the day; too fast and you will race to the bathroom. I find it helps to mitigate hunger, and more importantly, keeps your electrolytes in balance. Try it, and good luck.

@Donna_I Good luck. And remember, the first 24-48 hours will be a challenge, but the hunger urges will pass. You will find yourself all of a sudden not hungry, and hunger urges will begin to come on less frequently. Getting through the psychological hurdle is important. Once you do you will be surprised at how easy it is to go extended periods of time without eating. You will start to metabolize your own stored energy, and weight will seemingly melt off. Remember though that if you are menstruating you may retain water even though you will still be burning fat.

salt and sweets! may have killed the sweet one,for now, with a spectacular failure at a microwave chocolate cake in a cup - it was truely aweful!
