There are many good & even great police that put their asses on the line every day. Unfortunately their Unions & "Qualified Immunity" rules make it difficult as hell to weed out the bad. (& I am a staunch Union supporter in most instances) Until these things change, & until we let cops do cop work & bring in others to deal with Mental Health incidents & others to take care of the "Homeless" (what 'Defund the Police' {a very unfortunate descriptor} really entails) we will have issues that escalate & cause the rifts we have now.

@phxbillcee Exactly. If we stereotyped races like people stereotype cops, we'd be called bigots! I'm a full-on supporter of BLM AND the police - the good ones, that is. Like those that defended the Capitol during the January 6th insurrection!

The problems start at the top. If politicians and police chiefs made it 100% clear that the bad cops would no longer be tolerated, and if the courts worked to uphold that stance, we might make progress!

@phxbillcee Unfortunately the White supremacist terrorists have infiltrated the police forces all around the country and control the police unions so until these organizations are declared what they are it will be impossible to clean up police departments. Once these organizations like the Klan, Proud boys, Nazis, 3%ers and the rest are declared terrorist organizations their members can be charged as such and given sentences of 30 years monitored parole . No guns, no fly, no government jobs elected, appointed hired or as a contractor ... and no voting rights for the next 30 years while we clean up the messes they have made. Mark their licenses or IDs with D.T.P. for Domestic Terrorist Parolee.... My guess is their kids will grow up knowing better after watching dad and mom flip burgers for minimum wage ... All the other kids parents will have good jobs and live in nice homes which will give them a heads up on what their lives could be depending which side of the law they grow up on...

As for ridding us of the Domestic terrorists the Patriot act can be used against them if the Democrats grow a pair of balls for once...
"Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act (Pub. L. No. 107-52) expanded the definition of terrorism to cover ""domestic,"" as opposed to international, terrorism. A person engages in domestic terrorism if they do an act "dangerous to human life" that is a violation of the criminal laws of a state or the United States, if the act appears to be intended to: intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping. Additionally, the acts have to occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States and if they do not, may be regarded as international terrorism.

Section 802 does not create a new crime of domestic terrorism. However, it does expand the type of conduct that the government can investigate when it is investigating "terrorism." The USA PATRIOT Act expanded governmental powers to investigate terrorism, and some of these powers are applicable to domestic terrorism."
